Sean Tarry stepped out accomplished sprinters in a Pinnacle Stakes at Turffontein on Saturday with Eden Roc (s/s 106) just edging stable mate Chimichuri Run (s/s 105). Both have competed with distinction at the top level and should do well in upcoming Summer features over the short cuts.

Pack Leader (s/s 103) was widely touted as the “sure thing” on the card and duly thrashed his opposition. The Philanthropist gelding has been consistent throughout his extended career in different centres, regularly running figures in the range between 103 – 105.

Copper Mountain is an improving youngster. He attained a neat score of 98 for his third victory at only his fifth start. Each time this Noble Tune colt has stepped up in distance he’s handled it with aplomb, so seems worth following.

Nexus (s/s 101 +) romped in the Cape Mile at Kenilworth. Well suited to a true run 1600m and turned out in glossy racing trim fresh off a layoff by Justin Snaith, he blasted clear in the final stages for a convincing score.

Another noteworthy performance was delivered by Hello Winter Hello in the Laisserfaire Stakes. She too, came out after a refreshing spell to hammer her opposition. Pace setting Phil’s Dancer (s/s 98) tried in vain to hold her out, but fast- finishing Hello Winter Hello (s/s 102) had too many guns. On Captains Side just held third place.

Finally, in a blanket finish to the Woolavington 2400m, Crome Yellow just prevailed over long shot Holy Warrior who received some spirited betting action on Interbet at around 20/1. The victor is a steady and reliable stayer fully deserving of a breakthrough win after a long 441 day gap since his last success back in August 2019.
