Classy filly, Rose in Bloom (s/s 93 + has run 104 @ best) made a fluent start to her Highveld Spring campaign when zipping past Rings and Things (s/s 92) in an Assessment Plate at Turffontein. The Gimmethegreenlight filly has only won twice, yet has placed behind quality opposition like Magical Wonderland and Snowdance so has the capability of landing a significant feature.
Penny from Heaven, by Silvano, (s/s 92) has pulled up lame a few times yet can scuttle when sound. She finished powerfully to spread-eagle a low- grade handicap field and can go on to further success at a suitable class level. Pietro Mascagni (s/s 95) is another of Silvano’s progeny (and, like Penny from Heaven, also trained by the Mike de Kock,) won the night cap when staving off d Árrivee’s persistent challenge. The runner up should be able to win soon off his current official rating.
Pleasedtomeetyou got a glowing write up here after scoring 100 on his debut when winning by half the racecourse in a key Kenilworth Maiden. He duly followed up in the listed Sophomore Sprint at Durbanville but had to be panel beaten across the line by a forceful, Bernard Fayd Herbe. The duo just edged out promising, Elusive Trader, who quickened well to challenge.
Tribal Fusion (s/s 97 + best of 105) has been a fickle but way -above- average campaigner for trainer, Shane Humby. The Trippi gelding won a MR 90 handicap at Scottsville on Sunday, ambling in after making is move on the stand-side rail for his fifth win from only 14 starts, as a six year- old.
